Protective Devices
Electrostatic Discharge Protection Diode
Electrostatic Discharge Protection (ESD), also known as ESD diodes or TVS arrays, is an overvoltage protection device designed specifically for high-speed data transmission I/O ports. It is mainly used to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) from damaging sensitive circuits such as HDMI, USB, and mobile communication ports [1] [3]. It belongs to the TVS/ESD electrostatic protection array product category.

Transient Voltage Suppression Diode
A transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode is an overvoltage protection device with bidirectional voltage regulation and bidirectional negative resistance characteristics, similar to a varistor. It is used in various AC and DC power supply circuits to suppress transient overvoltages. When a surge voltage pulse occurs in the protected circuit, the bidirectional breakdown diode quickly breaks down through a Zener diode, changing from a high-resistance state to a low-resistance state, thus shunting and clamping the surge voltage, protecting the components in the circuit from damage by the transient surge voltage pulse.

A high-voltage diode is a semiconductor rectifier device specifically designed to withstand high reverse voltages. Its key difference from a regular diode lies in its extremely high reverse breakdown voltage (typically ranging from hundreds to tens of thousands of volts). It is widely used in electronic circuits requiring high-voltage rectification, overvoltage protection, or high-voltage triggering.

During operation, the anode (A) and cathode (K) of a thyristor are connected to the power supply and load, forming the main circuit of the thyristor. The gate (G) and cathode (K) are connected to the device controlling the thyristor, forming the control circuit of the thyristor.
